The Fashion Show
A night without Glamourazzi is a night without stars!
The stars are shining bright and so is the moon, all have come to witness their counterparts on earth as the models walk down the Revels ramp in their classic couture. All have but one thing in mind, to rise above the rest and be crowned the epitome of vogue.
Here’s presenting you Glamourazzi, the Revels Fashion Show. Come and witness this as the fashion teams battle it out for the crown of the best!
Rules:
Time Limit: 15+5(stage setup time-equally distributed for the starting of each round)
Number of participants: 13+7(5 backstage + 1 MC+1 Manager)
Judging Criteria:Depiction of theme, fashion choreography (walk, sequences, coordination, music, confidence), costumes, stage arrangement, stage occupancy, Q&A round.
• Only pure-college teams are allowed, that means all team members have to be from the same college.
• The team structure has to be as follows, maximum of 13 models + 1 MC + 1 Manager + 5 helpers (so that makes it a total of maximum 20 team members).
• There will be two rounds, of 10 minutes each. The first round is the ‘Retro’ Theme round, and the second round is a free theme round, where in the teams can choose a theme of their own.
• All the teams will be performing the theme round.
• After the completion of the first round by all teams, all the teams will be going for the second round.
• The break up of time of each round is as follows:
o 0-2.5 minutes- Stage setup time for round 1.
o 2.5-10 minutes- Performance time.
Then, after clock is reset;
o 0-2.5 minutes- Stage setup time for round 2.
o 2.5-10 minutes- Performance time.
• This is the ideal time break up, if the team sets up in less than 2.5 minutes, the curtain will still remain closed, the curtain only opens after the initial 2.5 minutes in each round. Also, each round is individually considered as a 10 minute entity. After curtain is closed in performance 1, clock will be reset to 0 and same procedure would be carried to round 2.
• Minimum time of performance is not defined, but it’ll be considered during judging.
• Both rounds hold equal weightage of marks.
• Teams should be registered on the day of the event before the info desks pack up, outstation teams are even required to register online.
• Props are allowed. Fire and live props are not allowed. Risky gimmicks and mobile props (like bikes, moving wheels, and carts) are not allowed.
• Emphasis will be given to portrayal, originality, clothing and stage setup.
• All participants do not have to be on stage at the same time.
• Change in the number of participants’ leads to deduction of points.
• Use of water and fire in any form on stage will result in disqualification.
• Points will be deducted for any display of vulgarity or dance movements on stage.
• An I-shaped extension will be provided to the auditorium stage.
• Both the stage and the extension may be used as the walking ramp.
• A projector screen will be present which can be used if required by the team, only during the setup time (first 2.5 minutes) of each round.
• In case of a power failure the teams will be compensated with the lost time and they will have to start from their previous formation.
• Any kind of announcement of the team’s college’s name will lead to disqualification the team.
• Teams need to provide their sound tracks to the organizers at least half an hour before the event starts in case they are using recorded music.
• It is suggested that a person appointed by the team as a helper/DJ be there with the sound technician when the team is performing.
• The teams have to submit 5 copies of the write up of both the themes depicted before their team goes on stage. This is the responsibility of the manager to hand over the write up to the event head at the time of slot-picking. Also, the MC has to explain the theme depicted by the team before the first model steps on to the stage for a minimum of 45 seconds.
• The time starts as soon as the Event MC announces the team name.
• There would be a Question-Answer round in which only 2 people from the team would be the representatives. This would be done after round 2 and is NOT included in the time limit.
• The Judges decision is the final. Any question about the result can be taken up with the Director of Manipal Institute of Technology.
• Event Head/Category Head holds full rights of the event and can disqualify a team if he/she deems necessary.
• Once again, there are two rounds, of 10 minutes each, of which the curtain will remain closed for the first 2.5 minutes. Hence, the maximum time limit for a round is 7.5 minutes, on exceeding which, there will be a deduction of 10% of the marks scored in that particular round per minute, in Simple Interest format.
• Please register only if you agree with all the rules. The rules are final and binding. Do not register if even one of these rules is unacceptable by your team.
